• Levitation: He can float, being a type of hi-no-tama. He enjoys it more than walking and thus does it as often as possible, when humans aren’t present. He can’t go higher than 1m.
• Drain: slowly absorbs small amounts of life energy or “Chi” of a being through direct contact by will. He often does this for food.
• Shape-Shift: Reverts between his Yokai and human form. He mostly uses his yokai form to attract the attention of wanderers and animals during the night and get them lost as he can control the brightness of his flame to resemble lanterns. He may also be able to only shift part of his body into a flame like substance, usually his fingers, just for light.

||Weaknesses: 
• Salt: He absolutely can’t stand the purifying sandy bits of sodium chloride. It makes him feel uncomfortable standing less than 5 feet away from it. He may literally run… Maybe…
• Physically Weak: He doesn’t see much reason to fight and had lived majority of his life leeching off the fact that Oni-Bis often stick together for the sake of food.
• Isolation: He absolutely cannot be a hikikomori(shut-in). He requires constant interaction with living beings through his daily life for their life force. If he’s alone for more than 24 hours he’ll start to weaken.
• Animals: He remembers the fact that was formed from the death of an animal. He can’t remember the details too clearly, or even what form of an animal he was. He’s a bit soft when it comes to the safety of smaller animals. He has no feelings for the big ones like elephants and tigers though.

||Personality: 
• Hikaru generally comes off as a cheerful and mischievous character. Often speaking in a light sometimes honeyed voice, he tends to meddle into things that do not really concern him and is quite accepting of most that come by his way. He enjoys knowing of the things that will tick a person of and sometimes picking at that point to the fact that some may find him irritating; he does however know not to go too far.

He is unable to stand insults, to himself or those he considers favourable. He’ll make a big fuss about it in his own way although he has minimal physical strength. During these times he’ll be quick to jump to assumptions and is quite volatile. If he’s done wrong he’ll apologize after blowing of some steam which he usually does by sleeping or going for a run. His anger fades quickly, it usually disappears over-night unless it’s under certain rare circumstances where he finds you spiteful.

Despite being seemingly carefree, he can act his actual age and be mature if he feels so, especially when the situation requires him to be serious. His voice becomes quieter and he’ll be more reserved with his comments. He’d like to avoid these sorts of situations if possible. If he shows no signs in change of character during a crisis or a chaotic event, it just means he isn’t taking it seriously or he doesn't believe his life is in danger. The effort he puts into certain tasks depends on his mood (unless he deems it a serious situation).

Hikaru comes off as a pessimist; he spouts some of the most depressing things at times even though in a cheerful tone, mostly to spite whoever he speaks to when they get on his nerves. He is also not one to show emotions such as sadness and depression or loneliness openly. In fact, when he is in that state he would usually force cheerfulness in order to actually feel happy. In a way you could say that he does it to trick himself into feeling better.

||History: 
 Hikaru doesn't remember much about his life before being an Oni-Bi. He knows that he had been created out of a dead animal. Whatever animal it was, he can’t remember. He knows it was small though, thus he acts more favourable towards small sized animals.

When he came to as an Oni-Bi, he was in a graveyard. He was apparently someone’s pet of some sort. His memories of those times are hazy. He wasn’t alone though. In the same graveyard of that small village lived about 20 other Oni-Bis, banded together in attracting humans and animals alike either with their humanoid apparitions or the light they give off during the night. Well, working together was not exactly what they did.

In that village, when an Oni-Bi successfully isolates a human through getting him lost, others would quickly swarm towards the human for a quick taste, it doesn’t matter which Oni-Bi had gotten the human first, just that they were able to feast. Whether one has less or more did not matter. Those that did so were usually the ones that had smaller flames and such. Hikaru was one of them for a long time.

The group of Oni-bis were like a family of some sorts, a family that constantly had a feud between members. Some would make up and then another would start. Usually conflict happened over the human that they preyed on, who wanted which and who was going to get the human alone. Well, one day the number of deaths in the village started increasing, that’s when the villagers became weary. And so happens, there was a travelling Onmyouji that entered the village not long after.

Well, it’s easy to guess what happened next. The onmyouji exorcised the Oni-Bi, or most of them. The remainders fled, separating from each other in order to increase their chances of survival. And so starts his travels which eventually lead him to Edo. He has a small trauma or paranoia over what happens and thus is  quite hesitant to rid a being of his/her/its life, he instead lets himself move along with a crowd and drain energy off different people at the same time.
